Carrick Rangers 5
Drumaness Mills 0

DRUMANESS Mills were knocked out of the JJB Sports Irish Cup by a strong Carrick side, but the final score was a bit rough on the visitors.

The Mills, who were without Mark Feenan and Philip Rogan, started brightly and the first real chance in the game fell to Gavin McEvoy, but he headed straight at the Carrick goalkeeper.

However, with 28 minutes gone Carrick took the lead when Costello was on hand to steer a cross past Michael Watson.

It was 2-0 eight minutes later when Watson could only manage to turn a cross from McDonnell into his own net.

The Mills hit back well and Paul Walsh was unlucky when he let fly from the edge of the box, but his shot sailed over the bar.

Twenty minutes into the second half Brendan ward headed a Chris Deegan free kick over the Carrick goalkeeper, but the ball struck the post and flew back across the goalmouth to safety.

Carrick were hitting the Mill on the break and three minutes later McCullough made it 3-0 with a clever finish.

McEvoy went close again at the other end before late goals from Fitzgerald and McDonnell gave Carrick a flattering win.
