Drumaness Mills 1
Albert Foundry 1
DRUMANESS Mills maintained their recent unbeaten run, but manager
Donal Bell will see this draw as two points dropped and not one
gained.
The Meadowvale outfit seemed well on the way to victory when they
held a 1-0 lead going into the last two minutes, but a moment's
defensive indecision handed Albert Foundry a share of the spoils.
The visitors enjoyed a good opening spell, but the Drumaness defence
of Paddy McDonald, Brendan Ward, Gary Murdock and John Connolly held
firm.
However, the visitors were guilty of some poor finishing as the
Mills rode their luck in a dodgy spell.
Philip Rogan and Paul Walsh started to get more involved in the
middle of the park and along with Gavin McEvoy and Chris Deegan they
began to dominate proceedings.
The Mills were playing some nice football and were beginning to put
Albert Foundry under all sorts of pressure.
This finally paid off in the 25th minute when McEvoy was fouled in
the box and Deegan calmly converted the resultant penalty to give
Drumaness a deserved lead.
Albert Foundry then had a player sent off in the 40th minute after
he lashed out at John Connolly and left the referee with no choice,
but to red card him.
Unfortunately, the Mills didn't come out for the second half and
were a pale shadow of the side which played so well in the first 45
minutes.
Their passing game fell to pieces and even the introduction of Neil
Walsh and Mark Feenan failed to ignite the Mills.
A dogged Albert Foundry kept going to the bitter end and were
rewarded in the 88th minute when the Mills defence failed to clear
their lines and the visitors' were handed a late equaliser.
