Drumaness Mills 3
Holywood FC 2
DRUMANESS Mills moved clear of the relegation zone after picking up
their second win on the bounce at Meadowvale, but there is still a
lot or work to do before Premier Section safety can be won.
The Mills started well in this basement battle and they jumped into
a 10th minute lead when Aidy Walsh marked his return to action
following injury when he scored from the penalty spot after Paul
Walsh had been fouled.
Drumaness had chances to increase their lead, but missed out on a
few occasions before Holywood were awarded a penalty for handball in
the 25th minute and they duly drew level.
Five minutes later Gavin McEvoy played in Brian McIlmurray and he
made no mistake with a superb finish to put the Mills back in front.
However, Holywood refused to throw in the towel and they made it 2-2
when they equalised just before the break.
The visitors almost took a 3-2 lead in the 55th minute, but a Mills
defender was able to hack the ball off the line following a corner.
Ten minutes later Holywood were again out of luck when their striker
shot narrowly wide, but it was the Mills who finished the stronger.
With just seven minutes remaining John Connolly was brought down in
the box and Aidy Walsh gave Drumaness all three points with his
second goal of the game.
